Saving costs, time and the environment are the focus of the latest series of 'simple swaps' from our partner supplier EGGER.
We've been selling EGGER products throughout our 33-year history, and we are an EGGER Diamond Distributor - the only one to offer trade customers the capability to process full panel sheets from the entire range, into made-to-measure doors or cut-to-specification orders.
The three-month campaign, called the Power of Reproduction, highlights several products that replicate the appearance of metal, stone and solid wood but with a reduced price tag, shorter wait times and with excellent sustainability credentials.
For example, a solid timber surface is around 200% more expensive than a synchronised pore woodgrain melamine faced chipboard (MFC) surface. But as well as a reduced cost, MFC comes with added performance benefits such as being light-fast, stable, resistant to scratches and stains, and requiring no ongoing maintenance.
Chipboard from EGGER is a carbon negative material, which means it stores more carbon than it releases. It has a 10 to 20-year lifecycle and then you can recycle it all over again.
The mainstays of the campaign are EGGER's ST20 Brushed Metal, ST40 Feelwood Oakgrain and veneer alternatives and the ST76 Mineral Rough Matt.
Let's look at the benefits of each one in more detail:
- ST20 Brushed Metal creates the same look as real brushed metals. It's available in cost-effective material solutions that are simple to work with, it requires no recurring maintenance and stays looking as good over time as it does on install.
- ST40 Feelwood Oakgrain perfectly replicates the look and feel of real oak at a fraction of the cost. It requires no further treating or painting, remains lightfast and stable, and stays looking good over time with no maintenance. Meanwhile, the ST40 laminates, are a perfect alternative to wood veneers. They reduce project cost and require no additional treating or painting to achieve an elegant look more easily.
- ST76 Mineral Rough Matt replicates the look and feel of real stone. It's produced under environmentally conscious, closed loop production processes and is available in 100% recyclable, carbon-retaining board products.
