We are delighted to say we've been chosen as finalists in two categories at this year's prestigious Oldham Business Awards (OBAs).
With three finalists in each category, we have been shortlisted for Business of the Year (£5m-plus) and the Supporting Young People Award.
We are among 30 businesses and individuals shortlisted for the 11 awards, and we'll find out if we've triumphed at a glittering gala dinner on 13th September 2024 at Oldham's iconic Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Now in their 16th year, the OBAs recognise and reward excellence, acumen and entrepreneurial spirit among the Oldham business community.
The Business of the Year (£5m-plus) award is for companies with a turnover of more than £5 million. We were asked to demonstrate outstanding leadership and vision and a successful performance against our objectives.
For the Supporting Young People Award, we were asked to demonstrate an on-going programme of providing young people (up to the age of 30) with career support through apprenticeships and other initiatives to increase their skills and qualifications.
The OBAs also celebrate the contribution local firms make to the social fabric of the borough that includes raising more than £56,000 for local charities. This year's beneficiaries will be Mahdlo Youth Zone and Dr Kershaw's Hospice.
This is our first foray into the awards arena for six years. Previously, we've been finalists in the Manchester Evening News Business Awards for Business of the Year (turnover £25-£50million) and the North West Business Insider magazine's Made in the North West Awards for Manufacturer of the Year (turnover over £25m) category.
Shortlisted with us in the Business of the Year (£5m-plus) category is Technology Powered Services and Dronsfields Ltd, while in the Supporting Young People category, the other finalists are Diodes Incorporated and Oldham Community Leisure (OCL).
