A team of intrepid staff is gearing up for another charity challenge - the Mahdlo Three Peaks of Saddleworth taking place in July.
It will be the second successive year we have entered a team for the 15-mile trek that takes in Saddleworth landmarks Indian's Head, Pots and Pans and Wharmton Hill.
Last year, a team of 14 from across the business braved relentless wind and rain, raising £1,500 for Mahdlo Youth Zone, a charity that HPP has supported since 2013.
And to give this year's team a boost, HPP has already donated £1,000 to the charity that is dedicated to young people from all over Oldham aged 8 to 19 years, and up to 25 for those with a disability. Its mission is to provide opportunities for young people to be the very best they can be through a huge range of activities.
Last year's challenge raised a total of £11,000 from the 150 people who took part, and the hike is one of a multitude of events Mahdlo organises to support its funding as demand for its services surge amidst the cost-of-living crisis.
Dan Mounsey, our Marketing and Business Development Director, who ran the course twice last year, says: "We were one of Mahdlo's founding patrons when it first launched 12 years ago, and we've always included it in our extensive range of charitable activities, because Mahdlo plays an invaluable role in providing children and young with resources and opportunities they need to succeed in life."
Entries are now open for the day-long trek, which involves approximately 3,000ft of ascents and descents, and is taking place on Saturday, 6th July.
This will be HPP's third foray into the event after raising £750 in 2019. We are regular supporters of good causes, joining in the annual Wear it Pink for Breast Cancer Now and the Maggie's golf day in aid of the Oldham cancer support centre.
