Things had got a little hairy here at HPP recently as Andy Evans our IT Systems Manager has been growing a true Barnet in aid of charity!
Andy has been cultivating a head of long luscious locks for a full year now, growing a substantial Barnet that he has both grown and sacrificed for two very good causes.
When the time came to say goodbye to his impressive effort Michelle from the sales office was on hand to do the honours and carefully chop him back to a more manageable length. The hair taken from Andy has been donated to The Little Princess Trust, which provides real-hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have sadly lost their own hair through cancer treatment. They rely solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers like Andy, and for this we applaud him.
Additionally, any sponsorship funds raised will be sent direct to SANDS - The Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Charity. This charity provides valuable support to anyone who is struggling to cope with the loss of a baby, and again, rely on the generosity of the general public to sustain their services.
When speaking about his mission to help these charities, Andy told us a bit about the name-calling he has been subject to over the past few months;
"As you may well be aware I have been developing quite an appearance of late. I'd like to assure you that it is not linked to a mid-life crisis/gender reassignment therapy or any other suggestion that has been offered! Merely for charity!"
However, he believes it was all worthwhile and commented;
"I'm really glad I did this and that I have been able to raise money for such good causes. Every donation means a lot and I am ever so grateful for the support and help in far exceeding my initial target."
It's not too late to support Andy in his quest for making a difference as donations are still being accepted via Andy's just giving page available at - https://www.justgiving.com/HPPAndy
