Two of our more intrepid staff members recently joined forces with another 4 brave trailblazers and cycled from Whitehaven on the East coast all the way across the country to Sunderland on the West Coast!
In a car the 110 mile journey would have taken around 2 and half hours but on a mountain bike, off road and on difficult terrain, Stuart Hyde and Stephen Taggart covered around 150 off-road miles over 2 and a half days!
"Taking our time and taking in the beautiful views that our fantastic region has to offer. We set off on Wednesday the 31st of July from Whitehaven in Cumbria and completing 40 to 50 miles per day, finished the ride on Friday the 2nd August at Roker in Sunderland." Says Stuart. "It was a long slog but we were hoping to raise as much as we can for Cancer Research so it was all for a good cause!"

Stuart has recently completed a 70 mile 'warm up' ride from Manchester to Blackpool in a time of 4 hours 38 minutes, a ride in the park compared to his more recent adventure! Stephen added, "This was by far the furthest either of us have ever cycled before but we we were quietly confident we'd complete it without too many dramas!"
Now, both safely back at HPP without as much as a grazed knee between them, Stuart, Stephen and the rest of the team managed to raise over £1000 for Cancer Research!
It's never too late to donate! If you would like to add to Stuart & Stephen's total, visit their Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/hppC2C13 and pledge what you can.
